Navigation etc.

This trio follows the tradition begun by Johann Wenth (Wendt) who in 1793 composed a "new trio for two oboes and cor anglais." The first performance of the Wendt trio was attended by Beethoven who composed Opus 87 three years later for the same combination of instruments. This one by Franz Krommer was composed in that tradition as was the trio by Triebensee. P XII:2 is a sonata for 2 oboes and English horn; P XII:3 is a set of variations for the same instruments.
