May I suggest archiving at least some of your talk page? It makes things easier to read and edit. Generally, people tend to do this every 20 or so messages, (in Carolus's most recent case, 80);-)-- Snailey Yell at me Email me 21:35, 14 March 2009 (EDT)
The way you make an archive is you just make a numbered subpage ([[User Talk:Daphnis/archive3]], say), and then cut everything into there, link it and date it!-- Snailey Yell at me Email me 21:58, 14 March 2009 (EDT)
Hi Daphnis, I moved some of the US-only Cortot files to the US FTP server as they become PD in Canada only in 2013. --Peter talk 06:36, 22 March 2009 (EDT)
Hi, My Interlibrary loan arrived. Amazingly, I have in my hands an original 1921 print of the Ives Concord Sonata. (Seen once in a great while in the used score market for around $1000.) I've also been informed that the requested volume of Boletin Latino Americana de Musica with the Unanswered Question has been approved. HeHe. Carolus 23:47, 27 March 2009 (EDT)
Dear! I would like to ask for your kind help. My name is Viktor, I'm a graduating student as a choral conductor in Budapest, Hungary, and I'm writing my thesis about Sibelius choir works. I'm in big trouble finding score examples to insert into my analytics (they don't even have them in libraries), and the deadline is very close. Can you please help me by sending me sibelius choir scores in pdf? The songs I'm in the biggest need are: Sydameni laulu, Man fran slatten och havet, Drömmarna If you have others too, than I'd be very very thankful. Please reply me on my e-mail address: hviktor@chello.hu best regards, Viktor Halasz

Hello Daphis
Today Iam righting in behalf of Ravel's Piano Concerto in G major I'm writing for the U.S and it isnt possible for me to view this file... PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!
NIA My email is Pianodarling777@aol.com
Hi Daphnis. I was just about to do it, but I think you got there first :-) — P.davydov 16:15, 30 March 2009 (EDT)
Yes that's fine, except I think we need the old category page back, as there are a few links still pointing to it (including some external ones, like Wikipedia). I'll re-create it with a redirect to the new page, which should take care of any broken links... — P.davydov
The move tool is really useful, but as I'm not a sysop I can only do it manually. BTW, I'm hoping that someone will remove the "Leopold" from the "Dvořák, Antonín Leopold" category, as was voted for recently on the Forum. I don't suppose you'd like to give it a go? :-) — P.davydov 16:27, 30 March 2009 (EDT)
I'd presume so, but I've no first-hand experience of using it. Maybe Leonard can advise? — P.davydov 16:57, 30 March 2009 (EDT)
Hi Daphnis, You uploaded Children's Carnival by Beach manually. I suppose you know that you can now let IMSLP do this automatically? Just make the work page and then click on 'Upload from Sibley'. Our programmers could this way keep track of the sibley mirroring automatically which is not the case with manual uploads.--Peter talk 04:51, 2 April 2009 (EDT)
Just two days after I set up this wishlist and you already uploaded the second symphony ! I hope the day will come when this music take the place it deserves in the repertoire.Thank you Daphnis. --Matthieu 01:29, 30 April 2009 (EDT)
Just as a note on your wishlist additions, it is my goal to have the complete collections of both Magnard and Ropartz up this year (in addition to my on-going Saint-Saens collection). So it may take some time :) Daphnis 11:01, 30 April 2009 (EDT)
Take your time ! 2 symphonies in one week is more than I can read ! Let me mention also how I appreciate the great job you are doing with Saint-Saëns. --Matthieu 15:16, 2 May 2009 (EDT)
dear Daphnis, I'm just registered in this site but I can't understand a lot (I'm not good in internet...) so I hope this is a correct way to contact you since I didn't find a link to mail; I saw the vocal score of "Vercingetorix" by Canteloube (I looked for it for years!) ; is not possible download for copyright, do you know how is possible buy it? or how to contact who scanned it? please reply to my mail: albertosig@libero.it kind regards and thank you! alberto
Hi Daphnis, I can´t understand the page beacause I want to download the string quartet N°3 of Bela Bartok, but its blocked, but string quartet N°1 y N°2 are free, my email is tuliotolkien@hotmail.com and we really really need N°3, could you help us??
Sorry it´s me again, but it´s public domain in Canada, I´am in Canada right now, but still I can´t download it, could you help me?, could you send it to me?? my email is tuliotolkien@hotmail.com.
I found a beautiful public domain print of Glazunov's Carnaval Overture on Google Book Search. It has some Google watermarks so I did not feel safe to upload it in this state. I was wondering if you could review it to see if it is worthy to be on IMSLP. I also recommend you to listen to this amazing piece if you are willing. Here is the url: [1]
Hey Daphnis -- re: your message on jsnfmn's talk page -- I do indeed have all of his published songs in the format you sent me, all extracted and compiled. I was waiting until I could scan my medium key books as well but in the next few weeks I will go ahead and post what I've got. Sound good?Massenetique 00:42, 19 June 2009 (EDT)
No problem, I was more curious than insistent. Whatever is easier for you. Thanks for getting back to me. Look forward to seeing a complete Massenet chanson collection available soon! Daphnis 08:58, 19 June 2009 (EDT)
Any luck so far?-- Snailey Talk to Me Email me 21:36, 19 June 2009 (EDT)
I haven't forgotten, just so you know, I'm just waiting for a chunk of free time to come my way since it will take some time to complete all these entries. Daphnis 10:42, 28 June 2009 (EDT)
Hi Daphnis, I managed to obtain an actual full score on inter-library loan, which will be scanned in a few weeks. You no longer have to worry about the microfilm copy I sent. Thanks, Carolus 01:07, 20 June 2009 (EDT)
Thanks for these overtures! For the "Five Great Overtures Volume," make sure to add this code: |Amazon={{AmazonLinks|0486408582}} - Dover coll. at the end of the template after you've uploaded. It will add a link to Amazon for the score. The code for the "William Tell and other Overtures" volume is: |Amazon={{AmazonLinks|0486281493}} - Dover coll..-- Snailey Talk to Me Email me 22:36, 23 June 2009 (EDT)
Thanks Daphnis for wonderful listings; do you happen to know of a duet for flute and alto by Faure? Thanks PaulDoctorwolfie 10:02, 28 June 2009 (EDT)
Hi, Did Eugen Gugel (1889-1972) actually create the Oboe and Piano reduction, or did he simply edit an already extant reduction? If he's the actual creator of the reduction, we have an obvious copyright issue as you can see. If he's simply the editor, this can be finessed using the 'urtext' rule. Thanks, Carolus 20:37, 28 June 2009 (EDT)
I'll do a little research. If there was a reduction published before Gugel's, my bet is that he was simply the editor. Carolus 21:39, 28 June 2009 (EDT)
I didn't notice any sort of copyright notice on this, so I'm marking it as "checked" for now. I don't recall running across any NIEs for Holbrooke, either. I expect that Holbrooke was one of those composers they really didn't want to waste any legal fees on for NIE filings, etc. Music Sales would spend the money for Stravinsky and Poulenc, but other composers in the Chester catalogue like Goosens and Holbrooke were allowed to slide. Carolus 01:07, 1 July 2009 (EDT)
Hi Daphnis. I've just replied to your question on P.davydov's talk page, but I thought I would copy it here, since my answer is a bit rambling and maybe he won't want this long paragraph taking up so much space on his page. Here it is, best wishes.
Hi again, and yes I was asking about publication dates for specific works. (Also see initial response over at P. Davydov's talk page. Thanks. Daphnis 21:50, 5 July 2009 (EDT)
Just...thanks for Das Rheingold - looking forward to the others! You probably deserve another IMSLP Star when you finish this project (like all the complete works weren't enough...!) I'll have to cook something new up..look forward to it.-- Snailey Talk to Me Email me 20:00, 6 July 2009 (EDT)
Hi, I've just added the composer page for Adrien Coclico, and I've uploaded a number of pieces on it. Unfortunately, I mislabelled one of these work pages: it reads canon where in fact it ought to be "fuga quarti toni". Could I ask you to do the redirect? I'm afraid I'm not sufficiently proficient in a wiki environment to do it myself. Cordially, Andrévierendeels 06:48, 16 July 2009 (UTC)
I'll try and keep that in mind. Thanks for the move! Cordially, Andrévierendeels 06:25, 17 July 2009 (UTC)
So nice to see it appear! My reference here gives the first publication date as being 1944, by Muzfond (apparently a predecessor of Sovietskii Kompozitor). It mentions the piano reduction as being issued by Muzgiz in 1946. I'm getting this from K. Thompson's Dictionary of 20th Century Composers, which is generally pretty good, but not totally error-free. Let me know if you have a better citation. Carolus 05:03, 24 July 2009 (UTC)
Done. Daphnis 13:07, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

I know this will make me sound like a drip, but I just want to stare openmouthed at your incredible number of scans of Villa-Lobos and Martinu...they are an immensely nice addition to the site. How is it possible to scan so much?...I mean, especially on top of your complete Saint-Saens project, Stravinsky, etc. etc. etc. If anything, you deserve another award- although it probably wouldn't adequately repay you.--KGill 01:07, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
These Villa-Lobos and Martinů scores I scanned a while back and had them sitting around waiting.
@KGill - The Stravinsky 3 pieces score has been scanned--I'm still waiting on receipt of my parts before I update the archive.
@Perlnerd - Die Walküre Act I now uploaded.

Hi Daphnis,
First let me thank you for your contributions! Second.. I was wondering if you could help me with some music that I'm trying to
download. I can't seem to get Bachianas Brasileiras No.6, W.392 (Villa-Lobos, Heitor) to Download.. it gives me a copyright error. Anyway you can help me with this? Thanks for your time.
