Hi Eric, It appears that even though the site states it supports Python 2.6 HathiHelper really doesn't. I'm running Python 3.1 and have no problems. I installed version 2.66 and when I ran HathiHelper I got the same error message as you. Give Python 3.1 (or 3.2 as I see they have now released a newer version) a try. --Cypressdome 12:19, 1 March 2011 (UTC)
I had been using the catalogue of William Faucett on some of his works, which is newer (1998) and more comprehensive than Ledbetter's. I've therefore changed Allah to the F number to go with the other couple of songs which use them. Carolus 06:38, 2 March 2011 (UTC)
I responded to your question on my talk page. Massenetique talk email 15:50, 2 March 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for adding the Sibley templates to the works I just uploaded - I do generally use the SibleyProject template, just overlooked it on these. And I will also start using the handle.net links, I think they are rather elegant. Cheers, Massenetique talk email 20:46, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
Not sure if I am doing this right: your message to me of feb. 2009 was perhaps not entirely understood. Also, I want to know how to delete the older versions of files that I have uploaded to IMSLP. User:EFerreri
Eric, forgive me, but I can not find a "delete" anywhere... Is it possible that it does not exist in my browser? (Came in through Firefox and Explorer.)User:EFerreri
Eric, Please delete the larger, older hymnus parts file. I also give you permission to delete all older versions of the files of any of my works. The current versions are good for now, but I am an incessant reviser/editor. Reason 1 : I do not want them to circulate, since they contain errors; also, some have been revised. (ie. insomniac variations) Reason 2: Sites such as scorser and justsheetmusic are now providing links to your site and I want to be able to control what gets downloaded.
I thank you (and the imslp for being such a great site)! User:EFerreri
Eric, thank you so very much. Robert Ward is an American original, very worthwhile musically. All best! User:EFerreri
I just was working on what you say yesterday ! --Squin 14:44, 11 March 2011 (UTC)... Yes... I asked in juanary to Massenetique who made a big work about Heugel if he wanted to rebuilt the page with new informations i put in it but I hav'nt any respons... So I'm working now to change all the page in one shot making 2 tables with scores we have for the period 1863-1895...the actual is too confusing... It takes me time to verify and organize.... But If you want to do that, it makes no problem for me.. --Squin 17:38, 11 March 2011 (UTC)
Hi Eric, In hindsight I might not have linked to the best biography but it seemed to offer more information on Schnecker's life than did the others. The Oct. 3d date can be found in Baker's 1905 Supplement and then again incorporated into Schnecker's bio in Baker's 1919 edition. Just this evening I found the NY Times announcement that appeared in the Oct. 11th issue (2d column just beneath "Music and Musicians") and if it's printed in the New York Times it must be true! Glad to see you've posted The Fatherhood of God. Mr. Schnecker has accumulated a fairly decent selection of scores on IMSLP in only two months. --Cypressdome 01:26, 12 March 2011 (UTC)
Since he died in 1961, his work will be free in Canada as of January 1 of next year (like Percy Grainger). Perhaps it's better to wait instead of having to move things to the regular server after the first of the year. Carolus 05:13, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
Hi Eric. Would you consider uploading Hanson's Clog Dance? It was published in 1922 and is the only PD-US score of his I've been able to find on the internet. Thanks! --Cypressdome 03:37, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
An update...I struck again. Trying to delete a file seems to have gotten the entire page deleted, rather than take take out the older file. The page seems to be there, but will not let me edit saying in effect it no longer exists. So I'll wait a day or two and try and reload the newer file. All Best User:EFerreri 22:36, 13 March 2011 Thanks. I will be able to upload now. User:EFerreri 16:53, 14 March 2011
Hi Eric, SBB, one of the most important sources, begins (with?) digitizing their collection: [1]. Unfortunately the only language there is German so far. So this could be helpful (to achieve the best results). Cheers --Ralph Theo Misch 00:51, 17 March 2011 (UTC)
Hi Eric! Would you consider uploading this PD-US score (arr. for 2 pianos)? I've uploaded it to Mediafire. It appears to be a very clean grayscale copy that originated from a Russian site that aggregates scanned scores so I can't credit the original scanner. My recent activity on IMSLP has been somewhat reduced thanks to a pinched nerve so now isn't the time for me to learn about accessing the US server. Should I run across any more PD-US scores may I send them your way? Thanks, --Cypressdome 17:43, 17 March 2011 (UTC)
Hallo Schissel. Please, do you think it would be more appropriate to put the category 'Anthem' on this musical score? [2] Thank you very much. --Antonella 02:23, 19 March 2011 (UTC)
Hi Schissel, just to let you know that I have a copy of the second string quartet on its way to me (score and parts), and because the parts that Google has digitized are pretty terrible, I'll be removing them once I've uploaded a better copy. Just wanted to give you a heads-up before you spent too much time hunting down such scans. Thanks for the lookout, though! Daphnis 03:53, 19 March 2011 (UTC)
Here is how I get the files (music) from SLUB. Generoso 01:10, 20 March 2011 (UTC)
Dear Eric, I recently discovered that all of Zanella manuscripts are in the library of "Conservatorio G. Rossini" in Pesaro, Italy; as soon as I'll be able to go there, I'll have a look and make a copy of some of them (especially this "Fantasia Orientale" for 6 cellos that tickles my imagination since I first heard of it some weeks ago). Thay also have copies of all his published music, and the sonata for cello as well, in both the 1916 and 1918 editions! Jacopo
Dear Eric, unfortunately I can't help. Well, he or she is mentioned in our book, but only as the librettist of Lachner's Op.88 4 Gedichte von L. Koch. I've just asked an expert of German literature - no result. If it is his (or her) real name, it might be Ludwig, Louis, Luise, Leonhard, Leonard, Lorenz or Laurentius... --Ralph Theo Misch 00:31, 22 March 2011 (UTC)
Hi Eric. Since you originally posted the files for the concerto I wanted to clear this with you before making any changes. Since I had downloaded all the jpeg2000 files for the concerto and already had set up the batch processing in Photoshop I decided to convert the first three movements to high-quailty, black and white pdf files as well. With your permission I'll go ahead and replace the color pdf files with these. Thanks, --Cypressdome 18:13, 22 March 2011 (UTC)
Salut mon cher Eric, I see you're working now on BNF archives with regularty (I was on Chavagnat and I see that you finish the job - merci-bravo-perfect ....) I'm sorry for Heugel page, elle ne change pas, toujours aussi confuse ... but I promise I'll finish the rebuilt at one time or another. I've got the Massenetique agreement... Merci.. technical question: do you know how to create two independent tables on the same zone of a page (one one the left, the other on the middle ) ? --Squin 15:13, 24 March 2011 (UTC)
Hi Eric. In trolling archive.org for material I ran across this work. If you weren't already aware of it I thought the information contained within it would be of interest to you. --Cypressdome 05:06, 28 March 2011 (UTC)
there’s a few on my main page (as well as my talk page). U.Michigan scores that are available online (updated when they acquire new ones, I assume). I should have included "parts" in this, but the feed is easily modified to do that! One may be able to do this for other libraries that make things available online like Harvard and U California. Sibley and BSB I already have posted RSS feeds for. (note the publication date, treated as ©-date often though not always by HathiTrust - many of these U Michigan scores may be readable only in principle for copyright reasons, despite some being reprints :( ) (modified the link, wasn’t turning up exactly what I needed... let us see now.) Eric 14:23, 29 March 2011 (UTC) never mind, that does not work- most of the things that turn up are not online. will see if I can make it work here or with MELVYL/UC catalog or etc. later though-Eric
