This edition is based on the autograph sources above. The cembalo (or organo, in the manuscript by Troyer) is the only part which accompanies the soloist, and so a continuo cello part is provided without figures so that the keyboard may be reinforced by a cello, as is customary. The Basso Ripieno part, of which two copies are supplied in the autograph parts, is tacet during solo sections. This was probably intended to be played by the section of celli and bassi, and it would also be possible to augment this with a bassoon, especially when oboes are used. The autograph parts contain 2 separate violin 1 parts, the second labelled "violino primo 1 hautb", does not play in the solo sections (marked "pia:"). Presumably a second oboe doubles the second violins during the tutti sections.
