The 1st violin sonata is a modern-classical piece in which tonality is sometimes leaved. The 1st movement Nocturne is mostly mildly atonal, moderately fast and in sonata form. The 2nd movement Scherzo diabolique is a partly tonal and bitonal, very fast virtuoso piece. The 3rd and final movement is a beautiful Chaconne: 8 variations are built upon an 8-bar harmonic progression. The Chaconne is harmonically undecisive and moderately fast. Digital performance is made in Sibelius 4 with Kontakt Player Gold. Videos with the moving score and play along videos are on my YouTube-channel.
