Performance in Dresden in 1918 (not the premiere, it seems?) reported Neue Zeitschrift für Musik, Jg 85, 20 June 1918 issue, p.151. Though as Büttner wrote 3 violin sonatas according to Wikipedia, and NZM does not specify which was performed, the 1918 work may be an earlier sonata than this one. The other two are the Fantasy-sonata in G major and the sonata in F major, both apparently first published in the 1950s, but composed (?) . (Unless someone has reliable information on the dates of composition, emphasis on the specific verb- not just of publication... and perhaps of the premiere dates- of the three sonatas.)
There is a reel-to-reel performance of this sonata at the Büttner-archive (and another of the F major sonata).
Voigt's catalogue of Büttner's works gives 1917 for this work, 1941 for the C minor sonata, and undated for the fantasy-sonata in G major.
