Extra Information
|
Book I was composed for the pleasure of my former wife and I shortly after we acquired recorders. They were originally a whole step lower. Books II through V were commissioned by Richard Trojan of Oregon for bamboo flutes capable of only fifteen notes, two octaves of a D major scale. They were written when I was in the process of moving from the city to the country; from tis came the double meaning of the title. The pieces were premiered by Gwen Powell and her students at Oklahoma State University in March 1978.l
