arranged for Mademoiselle Zina de Mansouroff
(possibly composed for Napoléon Alkan.)
Psalm 41 of the Hebrew Bible (and the New Standard Bible) is actually Psalm 40 of the Vulgate. In point of fact (at least from searches on specialized sites), this is psalm 42, 41 of the Vulgate.
This was recorded in 1991 (and released in 1996) (I assume from manuscript) on a CD with two of his 3 other vocal works (the Ancient Jewish Melodies and the Deux chants pour choeur à quatre voix: Haleluyah ; Es haîm. The funeral march for a dead parrot is not on the disc.)
