Misc. Notes

Loaded Robert A. Hudson's posted Midi file into Cubase and then loaded the Vienna Symphonic Imperial Piano (a sampled Bösendorfer Imperial 290-755) using the close Mic position. Added a bit of EW Spaces convolution reverb on the stereo output and normalized to -2dB before final VintageWarmer2 postprocessing. Note I did not change the overall MIDI volume or the MIDI pedaling (which is too much for a MIDI performance) and changed a few notes to reduce key velocities on chords that were too high for the sampled piano, and increased some key velocities for some melodic notes that were too low (but a lot more of this has to be done to make a better performance). See Discuss the piece for tips on how to create MIDI files that are well suited for a sampled performance.

Ok, op.79 in 1852, op.1628 in 1860?...
John C. Breckinridge was vice-president from 1857-1861 under James Buchanan.
On zooming into the (first edition) score by the way, I think maybe that is a 3 (1623) after all... - Schissel
