According to musiklexicon, Leopold Timmer was a valet, musician and composer. Nothing is known of his education. On his marriage [documents?] of 1738 he is referred to as a valet and director of chamber music for Count Franz Stephan von Lothringen. His brother Joseph Ferdinand Timmer, was also a composer.
