Navigation etc.
The solo instrument is most likely viola d'amore. It was customary for Graupner to notate parts for that instrument in French violin clef an octave higher than sounding pitch. The instrument was often tuned a tone higher and so here it is notated as an instrument in B♭. RISM suggests that oboe- or flute d'amore are possible soloists, however this is not likely as Graupner's music for these instruments shows that the instruments he had available were only in A. The part also contains double and multiple stops which further rules out the use of a wind instrument.
