  • The music consists of a single vocal line with unrealized continuo, and the words, as the subtitle says, are paraphrased, i.e. they aren't quite the original words.
  • Though this has a religious text, Grove makes no mention that Carey did any choral work, and he was best known for songs (though in a theatrical connection). This has therefore been tagged for single voice.
