Revision of a work from 1910.

Dedicated, I believe, to his conservatory teacher Anatoly Liadov, who despised Edvard Grieg's music; the 2nd movement is a set of variations on a theme by the latter composer. - Schissel (original 1910 version probably the version premiered in 1926 - this successful premiere, according to Tassie, inspired Myaskovsky to revise the D minor and F minor quartets and to compose the quartets in A minor and C minor.)
