Extra Information The 17-nocturne collections first appeared in 1870, with editions from Peters (Monatsbericht (1870), p.188) and Litolff, though their nocturne ordering differs for Nos.8-10. The Steingräber edition (1890) follows the Litolff ordering, and the collection from Universal Edition (1901) follows the Peters ordering. The Peters collection from 18 Nocturnes (1881 ca.) adds an 18th nocturne to the 1870 edition, and otherwise keeps the same ordering.
