Not to be confused with Richard Hoffman (1831–1909). Dedication of the Serenade Op.73 notes that his brother's name was Heinrich Hofmann- the composer? Possible, but unlikely, since Heinrich the composer was born three years earlier in Berlin, far from Richard's birthplace of Delitzsch in Saxony.
