User talk:Chamberpianist

Welcome

Dear Chamberpianist,
Welcome to the IMSLP! We would like to thank you for contributing.

Please visit our Contributor Portal to learn more about contributing to IMSLP.

The Tutorial provides you a basic introduction to using this site. If you wish to contribute music scores, you will find all the details in the page How to Submit a Score. In addition to that, it is advisable for you to have a basic understanding of copyright law. In case you aren't able to find something you want to know in those pages, you can leave a note on the forums.

Please consider putting the Babel tags on your user page, to tell others which languages you speak. You can also use the Babel system to find users who speak a certain language.

You can communicate with other users by placing a message on their talk page (click on a user's name, and then on Discussion), just like I did on your page. When logging on the next time, this user will get a notification of a new message. Replying to these messages can be done on your own talk page, or on the corresponding user's talk page. Note that there will be no notification for the other user when replying on your own page. It's always a good idea to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~), which automatically adds your user name and a datestamp.

If you want to discuss something with the whole community, you can post a message in the IMSLP forums. For very important messages, please contact the staff directly via the IMSLP staff contact list.

Frequently asked questions can be found on the FAQ page.

We're looking forward to your next submission!

Best wishes, Goldberg988 13:24, 19 June 2007 (EDT)

Hi Chamberpianist! Thanks for uploading the Thuille Quintet, it's great to see some of his music on here. Do you happen to have the Sextet for piano and winds? --Goldberg988 13:24, 19 June 2007 (EDT)

Dear Contributor,

Thank you for your submission. The upload was successful, but you did not provide enough source and publisher information. Can we kindly ask you to fill in as much information as possible? Correct identification of a score is absolutely needed to make sure a score is in public domain and does not violate copyright laws. Also, this identification reflects IMSLP's strive to quality and completeness.

Please pay attention to the following items:

  • Arranger: The person who arranged or transcribed the piece from its original setting into another (an orchestration of a piano work for example). While not always known, arranger's name is often printed on top of the first page (e.g. arranged by... ; in french arrangée par...; in German bearbeitet von... or enrichtet von...). The name and the death date of any arranger or transcriber is most important from a copyright standpoint. Please provide this information if at all possible.
  • Editor: The person who edited the score. As with arrangers, the editor's name is usually printed on top of the first page (e.g. edited by... ; in french revue par... or éditée par...; in German bearbeitet von...). This field can concern the original editor, and in case of a recently engraved or typeset score, the engraver (typesetter).
  • Scanner:This field should include the name of the scanner, or the website where the file was obtained, with a link to the site. (Preferably using one of our available External library templates).
  • Publisher Information: You can find publisher information usually on the bottom of the first pages of the score. The format for this field is as follows: "<City>: <Publisher Name>, Ed. or No.<edition or publication number, if different from plate number>, <Date - use "n.d." if no date is printed on score>. Plate <Plate number>."

More fields are described in the Score submission guide.

You will find a lot of information on the first pages of the score. If you have problems gaining information, more tips and help are provided at IMSLP:Contributing scores and Historical Publication Info. An example of a good submission is Sinding: Frühlingsrauschen, Op.32 No.6

Piano Quartet, Op.47 (Schumann, Robert)

Hi. Thanks for this great score! I'm interested in playing it. Would you happen to also have the piano score of this edition? That would be great, because it's hard when the score is of a different edition than the parts.--Peter talk 16:41, 22 July 2007 (EDT)

Eberl: Grand Trio, Op.36

Hello Chamberpianist, Do you happen to know if there was originally a copyright claim on the Musica Rara piano score? The typesetting does appear to have been done in 1973, on a music typewriter known as the "Musicwriter." Voxmann's edition would most likely qualify as an "Urtext", but USA status depends upon a proper copyright notice for such works issued before 1989. I notice that there is a valid copyright notice on the clarinet and cello parts, so I'm probably going to have to tag this as protected in USA which will result in temporary blocking. Thanks, Carolus 11:19, 31 May 2009 (EDT)

Juon Trio, Op.39

Dear Chamberpianist. The "Trio Caprice" files you uploaded earlier today from the Sibley site are actually already on-line, under the title "Piano Trio No.2 (Juon, Paul)". So the new files have been removed. Sorry — P.davydov 13:47, 10 July 2009 (EDT)

Saint-Saens, Op.28

Hallo Chamberpianist, die Ausgabe für 2 Klaviere musste leider gelöscht werden, da sie zwar von Debussy eingerichtet, aber von Victor Babin (1908-1972) editiert wurde, ©1963. Leider. Gruß, Hobbypianist 20:55, 31 August 2009 (UTC)

Category:Composers

You reverted my edit on Category:Composers. Why did you do it without any comment? I did the edit after a comment on its talk page. Please read it at once and tell me why you did it on the talk page or here.--Supertchan 02:27, 22 September 2009 (UTC)

Sorry for interfering but I must comment it: I think either the existing initials should remain as they are or a completely new system must be introduced. We have at the moment a regular alphabet there, but with randomly chosen additional entries like Br, Mo, Sch or whatever it simply doesn't look nice! I would prefer following: once you click on an initial, for example B, a second page with sub-listing Ba, Be, Bi, Br, Bo, ...etc. should open. Well, let's hear the other admins opinion about this. Leonard, is it possible to change the listing system as described? Hobbypianist 16:47, 22 September 2009 (UTC)

Kiel Piano Quintet No. 1, Op. 75

Dear Chamberpianist Your many contributions are greatly appreciated! You may not know that the piano score for this work is missing the last page(s) - I think just the last page, only the last 3 lines of the V1 part are missing in the score. Best regards, --Anotherchamberpianist 00:59, 16 October 2009 (UTC)

Violin Sonata in F major, MWV Q 26 (Mendelssohn, Felix)

Thank you very much for the upload, but sadly, Yehudi Menuhin is under copyright world wide since he died in 1999. To avoid copyright infringement, the file will have to be deleted. Cheers, Lndlewis10 22:13, 7 February 2011 (UTC)
